Legend Overview

Mirage is the bamboozle king. His abilities are all meant to deceive opponents and give the player piloting him a chance to get the jump on their opponent. Since the changes to his decoys many seasons ago, Mirage can actually control his decoys, enhancing his ability to confuse his opponents. The problem with Mirage is that his clones can easily be detected, and if the player piloting this legend isn’t extremely conscious of how to use the clones, they can find little to no value.

Strengths

• When operated by an experienced player, Mirage can be very confusing for his opponents.
• His passive ability, Now You See Me, can be very valuable for reviving teammates safely.

Weaknesses

• Mirage’s clones can be destroyed very quickly, meaning that skilled opponents can easily detect when Mirage is trying to bamboozle them.
• Life of the Party no longer gives a speed boost, making it much less reliable for escaping bad situations.

Skill Breakdown

Class – Support

Lifeline is a member of the Support Class. This allows them to access special Support Bins, which grant healing and survival items. If you have a member of the Support Class on your team, you can craft expired banners at a replicator.

Passive Ability – Now You See Me…

Mirage goes invisible while reviving teammates and while using Respawn Beacons. Additionally, when Mirage gets downed he spawns a clone of himself and gains a temporary cloak.

Tactical Ability (Q) – Psyche Out

Mirage sends out a decoy to bamboozle his opponents. While the decoy is active, it can be controlled to mimic Mirage’s movement. This ability has 45 health points and deploys an icon, as well as a scan, displaying enemy locations when they destroy the clone.

Ultimate Ability (Z) – Life of the Party

Mirage deploys a team of controllable decoys to bamboozle his opponents. This ability has a 1-minute cooldown and grants Mirage a temporary invisibility cloak upon activation.

Tips and Tricks

Tip #1 – Duping for Intel

Most players only think to use Mirage’s clones to bamboozle enemies, but they can actually be used to gather information on enemy locations. When this ability is destroyed, it shows you where it was destroyed from. If you’re looking to gather information on an area, send a clone out in a believable way and enemies will likely destroy it, revealing their position to you and your squad.

Tip #2 – Bring the Party to Them

Mirage’s ultimate ability Life of the Party is commonly thought to be an escape utility. However, the strongest application for this ability is pushing enemies. While you’re out of the line of sight of your opponents, activate this ability and then engage the fight. When you engage this way, enemies will have no information about which clone is the real Mirage, and you’ll get the jump on them. Keep in mind, when you start shooting you will be revealed because your clones do not mimic shooting animations.
