Legend Overview

Wattson is all about finding a good position to play and holding it down for her team. Her tactical ability Perimeter Security creates barriers that prevent opponents from easily entering. When combined with her ultimate ability which prevents ordinances from destroying the nodes of Perimeter Security, Wattson can hold down an area well. The only thing about Wattson which makes her a bit less desirable is the difficulty in finding success on this legend when compared to other legends in the defensive category.

Strengths

  • Wattson’s tactical ability Perimeter Security is great for holding down a defensible position and makes enemies think twice about pushing.
  • Her passive Spark of Genius is a great double-purpose passive. The first part, which allows Wattson to carry 2 ultimate accelerants per inventory space is powerful on its own.

Weaknesses

  • The nodes of Wattson’s Perimeter Security ability can be destroyed easily when facing a coordinated team. This means Wattson players must be intentional with the placement of these nodes.
  • She does not always suit the playstyle of casual Apex Legends lobbies. Wattson suits very sweaty lobbies with lots of teams alive in end games.

Tips and Tricks

Tip #1

Wattson’s passive is a great two-pronged ability with powerful functionality packed into it. . Most players don’t actively utilize some of this passive. Don’t overlook that Wattson can slowly regenerate her shields over time, and this effect is amplified when combined with her ultimate ability Interception Pylon. If you’re trading damage with opponents and generally safe, you should consider letting your passive do the heavy lifting in terms of healing. Doing this, you’ll notice that you save a lot of healing items and don’t find yourself running as low as you would otherwise.

Tip #2

The hardest part about becoming a great Wattson player is becoming proficient at placing the nodes of her tactical ability Perimeter Security. For those of you looking to pick up the legend, or improve your existing Wattson gameplay you should try to spend some time getting used to how the connections work. You’ll quickly learn how to weave massive fences that completely debilitate rushing enemy teams. One more thing to keep in mind about these nodes is that you’ll want to get good at hiding them from opposing players’ line of sight. This will make it so the fences are more effective and force enemies to take unfavorable peeks to destroy the nodes.
