Gwen is a melee, magic, duelist that specializes skirmishing through her ability to block damage with her Hallowed Miss and her ridiculous passive Thousand Cuts. Effectively using her wind wall ability properly differentiates average and amazing Gwen players.

Strengths
- Gwen’s kit makes her a powerful duelist and split pushing threat that can be difficult to lock down
- Skip’N Slash (E) and Hallowed Mist (W) grant Gwen powerful self-peel and mobility tools
- Excellent DPS output if allowed to scale and left unchecked during team fights and skirmishes
Weaknesses
- Gwen can feel underwhelming before she gets access to items that augment her attack-speed oriented kit (i.e. Nashor’s Tooth)
- Gwen lacks inherent sustain and can be easily poked out by longer-ranged and poke-oriented enemies
- Her close-range kit means she can be easily kited by enemies that can match her mobility and leave her stranded in the front-line
Skill Breakdown
Passive Ability – A THOUSAND CUTS
Gwen’s attacks deal bonus magic damage based on the target’s health. She heals for a portion of the damage dealt to champions by this effect.
Q Ability – SNIP SNIP!
Gwen snips her scissors in a cone up to 6 times, dealing magic damage. Gwen deals true damage to units in the center and applies her passive to them on each snip.
W Ability – HALLOWED MIST
Gwen summons mist that protects her from enemies outside of it. She can only be targeted by enemies who enter the mist.
E Ability – SKIP ‘N SLASH
Gwen dashes a short distance, then gains Attack Speed, attack range, and magic damage On-Hit for a few seconds. If she hits an enemy during that time, this Ability’s cooldown is partially refunded.
R (Ultimate) Ability – NEEDLEWORK
Gwen hurls a needle that slows the enemy’s hit, deals magic damage, and applies A Thousand Cuts to the champion’s hit. This ability can be cast up to two more times, with each cast throwing additional needles and dealing more damage. Gwen must hit an enemy between each cast to unlock the next one.
Tips and Tricks
Tip #1 – Closing the Gap
Gwen can combine her flash with her Q and E to further the distance of the cast ability. This allows her to close the gap on enemies and surprise opponents easily.
Tip #2 – Slipping Through CC
You cannot tank enemy crowd control for your allies with Gwen W since it will just pass through Gwen into your teammate.
Trick #3 – Avoiding Damage
Gwen can use her W ability to avoid blast cones and also damage from dragons and Baron Nashors.
